Cancellation and Refund Policies
BellSouth Early Termination Fees
Modem rebate offer & Free Activation offer require 12 month commitment. The following early termination fees apply for customers who redeem the rebate coupons: Free Activation rebate-100% of rebate amount for 1-12 months; Modem rebate 100% of rebate amount for 1-6 months, 50% of rebate amount for 7-12 months. Equipment can be returned for refund within 30 days of installation. Installation fee is non-refundable.
If, for whatever reason, you do not complete the 12-month contract with Earthlink, you will be charged $149.95 for equipment charges. The only exception occurs when you move to another residence during the 12-month contract. In this case, you will still be charged the $149.95 fee, but if you reactivate your account within 60 days, your account will be credited $99.95.
30-day money-back guarantee. Return all equipment in person or postmarked by the 30th day from purchase for a full refund (excluding shipping and handling).
If you purchase or download ModemMax, you have thirty (30) days to try the program. If you are not satisfied, contact the company and you will receive a complete refund of your purchase price minus shipping and handling charges, if applicable.
If you cancel your account or have your account terminated within the initial 12-month term with Qwest, you will be charged an early termination fee of $300. Upon cancellation, the modem must be returned within thirty (30) days, or you will be charged the manufacturers suggested retail price for the modem.
For ATT Yahoo
If you sign a contract for service with ATT Yahoo and cancel service prior to the end of that contract, you will be subject to a $200 Early Termination fee. If you do not sign a contract for a specified time but do pre-pay for your service, you will receive a refund of the unused balance as per the terms of service agreement.
If you cancel your DSL service within the first thirty (30) days, you will be not be charged an early termination fee. If you cancel between the 31st day and the eighth month of service, you will be charged $200 as an early termination fee. If you cancel after the eighth month, you are responsible only for the remaining balance due during the month in which you canceled. No matter when service is canceled, however, the modem must be returned to Verizon or an additional $125 will be charged to you.
For Insight Communications
If you choose to cancel your service with Insight Communications, you may do so at any time. However, you will be responsible for all of the fees relating to service up-to and including the date of cancellation, or the date of service disconnection (whichever is later). Within 10 days of cancellation, you must return all equipment and property which belongs to Insight Communication in working condition, or you will be charged the full suggested retail price for that piece of equipment.
For Charter Communications
Yyou can choose to cancel your service with Charter Communications at any time. However, you will be responsible for any outstanding account balance through the date of cancellation. You will also have thirty days to return any leased equipment to Charter. If the equipment is not returned within thirty days, you will be charged for the full retail price of the equipment.
You may cancel your Adelphia service at any time. You will, however, be responsible for service fees incurred until the date of disconnection. Furthermore, if you used or leased equipment belonging to Adelphia that equipment must be returned within 15 days in good working condition or you may be charged additional fees.
For Comcast Communications
Upon canceling your service, you will be responsible for any unpaid fees up to and including the date of disconnection. If you prepaid for service, you will receive a refund of fees based on remaining months of service less any outstanding fees. Additionally, you will return all equipment to Comcast Communication within ten days of cancellation.
For Mediacom Communications
Unless you have signed a contract for a fixed period of service through Mediacom, you may cancel your service at any time without penalty by providing a twenty-four hour notice. You will be responsible for all fees incurred until and up to the date of disconnection. If you have signed a contract for a fixed period of service and you wish to disconnect early, you may be charged a penalty for that. Any Mediacom equipment must be returned in good working order upon cancellation, or you will be charged the full retail price for that equipment.
